Our Story

The inspiration behind Rich Free is my eldest daughter.  I first discovered she had severe food allergies when she was only 5 and a half months old. I had begun weaning and she had a small spoonful of yoghurt. Within a few minutes she was vomiting, itching, swelling and within an hour she was unconcious in an ambulance. This was the start of a terrifying journey. She had severe reactions to egg and wheat amongst many other foods resulting in numerous ambulance trips to hospital. Parties and eating out were stressful and awkward due to the lack of dietary options available to her. I began making KrispyKakes and found them to be an absolute favourite amongst adults and children who didnt have restricted diets, aswell as those who did. 10 years later and the market is full of substitute foods for those with allergies, but still I struggle to find something which is an indulgent, sticky chocolate treat. She does not want a healthy fruity option each time. This is where KrispyKakes stand alone. Using high quality ingredients and a strictly controlled environment, we ensure there is no cross-contamination whilst producing a delicious treat suitable for most people.
